In all of our work on studio edition pieces and unique items for clients, we endeavor to create objects of simplicity and elegance - objects which clearly convey the intent of the original design.   The complementary skills and combined strength of the team are the most important tools in this process.

Restoration of antiques requires a delicate touch and an eye toward understanding the spirit of the original design; different pieces demand different “hands.” In the case of this simple mid-century chandelier, the hand of the maker is seen in the simply carved stamps which emboss the clear elements, while other elements were made totally uniform by mold-blowing process.

These projects mean the studio and team must be versatile enough to fix all parts of the piece; we may need to re-weld metal connections, blow some glass elements and carve others, re-wire safely or salvage and repair existing parts. Research is another key component in restoration, as often pieces that come to our studio have been repaired before and frequently re-assembled incorrectly. We take great care to document the process of what has been refurbished and researching the piece to ensure that it is put back as it was originally designed.
